Quartet Four Love Songs – Ross Barber
Ross Barber’s installation of sound and text
describes a poignant journey through
time, pain and place. An established visual
artist working across a range of visual arts
media, including moving image projections,
performance and 3D constructions, Ross
Barber is the Executive Director of Access Arts
Queensland and a recipient of the Centenary
of Federation Medal for Distinguished Service
to the Arts.

These landscape works by the Colour
Gang Artists’ Group, Gippsland Region,
are vibrant and rich with life experience. The
Colour Gang are a group of artists who work
together in a supported studio at Bairnsdale
and feature Debbie Heystraten, Rhonda
Johnson, Lawrence Liccione, Ray Tarrant,
Alan Treasure, Ron Ellis, Glenn Sinclair and
Stephen Smith. The studio is supported by
Noweyung Ltd.

Off the Wall
This ‘art outreach’ project has been created
to be to be shown in the hallway exhibition
space at Gasworks. Drawings have been
collected from budding artists from across
the state, and will be exhibited in a multiple
‘wallpaper’ installation.

Glenn Sinclair
Work by artist Glenn Sinclair will be on view in the Jackman Gallery Window. Glenn works with the artists group called the Colour Gang in a supported studio in Bairnsdale. His paintings are large and dramatic, he is influenced by popular culture and action films featuring Batman and Spiderman. The Colour Gang are showing in the Foyer Gallery at Gasworks for Art of Difference 2006.

Richard Morrison’s bold energetic work expresses aspects of his experiences in gay subcultures and his interest in portraiture. This is a unique opportunity to talk with an artist whose work has been intimately informed by mental illness and identity politics.

Presented by Arts Project Australia in partnership with State Trustees of Victoria, the first connected exhibition was held in 2003 and has grown to become one of the largest surveys of contemporary artwork by artists with a disability. While this is not an Art of Difference event, it is an important adjunct activity that showcases work by artists with disabilities.
