2026 Exhibition Call Out

For our 2026 exhibition program at Gasworks we are offering two gallery spaces:  the Angela Robarts Bird (ARB) Gallery, and the James McCaughey Foyer Gallery.

Located in Albert Park on the former South Melbourne Gas Plant site, Gasworks combines four hectares of parkland with two galleries, two theatres, artist studios, workshops, function spaces, and a café. Each year, over 100,000 community members engage with Gasworks. By exhibiting at Gasworks, your artwork will be experienced by a diverse range of people.

What kind of work do we exhibit?
We welcome multidisciplinary work from a diverse range of practitioners – from Emerging to Established artists. We welcome proposals from solo artists and groups of artists. We are interested in painting, sculpture, video, installation, performance, photography and multi-media work. Have you got an experimental practice and are not sure if it will suit the space? Email us and ask! Please consider visiting the space in person before applying.

International Artists

Gasworks welcomes international artists, but we do request an Australian point of contact. This contact would need to collect and pick up the artworks at install and de-install as we do not have the facilities to store artworks. Depending on the complexity of the installation, if you or a representative on your behalf are not able to be present for installation, the GW technicians hours may also need to be extended (charged to the hirer).
