Matrix
Grace Wood
Grace Wood works with images to create new fictions, explore past and forming histories, and to attempt to briefly pinpoint elusive memories. Matrix brings past and present works together in new configurations. Domestic ways of making meet forms of exhibition design. Collating art historical images and pop-cultural references; pieces of personal archive; and current experiences of mothering, she shifts and expands the meanings that images carry.
Grace Wood is a Narrm-based artist working across photography, textile, collage and installation. Her practice explores images as sites of reproduction, translation and accumulation, drawing on art historical sources, fragments of personal archive and images gathered online.
