Short-term Studio Residency

Gasworks Arts Park has an artist studio available for several 4-month long hiring periods in 2023/2024.

 

This short term studio residency is available for emerging and mid-career artist who want to realize a specific project or focus on career development. 

Our aim is to provide a workspace to support visual artists who are actively pursuing their artistic career. This residency will enable development of practice, collaboration, and creative conversations. You will be joining an active community of 14 other artists working in neighbouring studios around the vibrant park area. There will be opportunities for mentorship from the professional resident artists as well as the Visual Arts Manager at Gasworks. Depending on the nature of any completed projects, the artist may be invited to exhibit in a group exhibition at Gasworks in 2024.

  •  Gas heating and direct access to park space
  •  $260/month

Amenities and Access:

  • Shared sink, microwave, and kettle
  • Public toilets in park
  • After-hours access
  • Parking available around the park. 

To Note:

  • The studio is not yet wheelchair accessible
  • Gasworks Arts Park can offer reception services for resident artists during office hours (Mon-Fri 9:30am-4:30pm)
  • The artist is required to be present during Open Studios at the Gasworks Farmers Market the 3rd Saturday of every month during the residency.
