This monthly free outdoor event offers an art & craft market, food trucks, drinks, and live music.
Staging new work can be overwhelming, especially when time and energy is splintered between the creative development, venue hire, marketing, and production processes. Premiere at Gasworks is an initiative to help alleviate some of these pressures so you can focus your energy into the creative aspects and produce a high-quality premiere season with greater accessibility.
Gasworks Script Lab is open to all Victorian-based writers living in the City of Port Phillip and beyond. Ideally, program participants will be Australian citizens or permanent residents who are committed to developing and presenting their writing at a local/national level
Gasworks Arts Park is seeking facilitators for big group arts participation events at our park precinct in Albert Park. We are seeking outdoor activities across the performing and visual arts such as dance, painting, sculpture, singing and music, which will engage a large group of participants in a collaborative activity
Building on many successful years as the southside hub for the Melbourne Fringe Festival, Fringe at Gasworks is always a popular festival of activities From October 1st - 20th, you will find a fantastic selection of creative experiences spanning physical theatre & dance, music, comedy, kids and circus.
Gasworks Arts Park has been the south side hub for Midsumma Festival and a summer destination for high quality theatre, provocative art and fun nights out with friends for more than 11 years. Midsumma at Gasworks is characterised by a diverse and inclusive program spanning visual art, drama, comedy, circus and performance art.

The annual Queer Playwriting Award Showcase program aims to identify, support and develop new playwriting talent and get queer issues out there for mainstream audiences to consider and enjoy. The LGBTQIA+ community is diverse, exciting and full of stories and ideas that deserve to be heard on the stages of performing arts venues throughout the country. This is the chance you have been waiting for to tell a bold, funny, new, important, or exciting story to Australian theatre audiences.
Small Gems aims to identify, develop and support new performing arts work for small to medium sized venues in metropolitan Melbourne and beyond. Small Gems will commission independent works that are of professional quality, contemporary interest and in the genre of drama, dance, hybrid theatre, circus and ground based physical theatre, to help create new work, support artists with a track record of high quality production output, and contribute positively to the Australian theatre scene.
Gasworks Circus Showcase is Gasworks Arts Park’s professional development program for circus and physical theatre artists and one of the only opportunities of its kind in Victoria. We provide a platform for circus performers to develop innovative acts for presentation, culminating in an on-stage showcase in front of a live audience, with feedback from industry experts. Entries are shortlisted, and 4 finalists will perform in our one-night-only Showcase on Saturday 25 May. Awards with a focus on career development will be distributed.
